U.S.–Canada trade negotiations collapsed after U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly ended talks – terminated over a Canadian Ontario political advertisement about tariffs that the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation called misleading—leaving critical issues unresolved and possibly threatening the broader U.S.–Canada trade relationship. The announcement was made on Truth Social late in the evening on Thursday October 23, 2025.
