UPDATE 7 – SWI IID – Document Image Functionality (DIF) Issue for CFIA Regulated Goods
Start Date / Time: 2021-01-06 / 08:00 ET
End Date / Time: N/A
Clients Affected: All importers and brokers using IID
Description:
UPDATE 7:
Please be advised that the CBSA is continuing to investigate the system problem reported below.
An issue has been discovered in CBSA’s Single Window application which impacts CFIA regulated IIDs with document image functionality (DIF) requirements.
The issue occurs when the IID is received prior to the submission of the DIF attachment(s). When this occurs, SWI shares the IID with CFIA without the attached image files. As a result, no PGA decision is obtained and the IID remains in a “Pending” status. No reject is triggered in this scenario.
As per the general guidelines listed in the business Process Overview section (page 5) of the DIF PRD, the LPCO image should be submitted prior to the IID.
We are working to resolve this problem and will update this message as soon as more information is available. We regret the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
Action Required:
To avoid processing delays, clients should ensure a positive application acknowledgement for each DIF submission is received prior to submitting the associated IID.
